REASONS TO CHOOSE GRADUATE STUDY:

The onward march of computer technology has made the world shrink so much that, it has made everywhere, anytime communication possible. There is an old paradigm that says, "To stay where you are, keep running". Today I realize how true it is because unless we keep track of the changes and advances being made we will be considered pariah.

As I stand at the threshold of completing my undergraduate study, after carefully contemplating the various career options open to me I have decided to go in for graduate study that calls for personal commitment in fulfilling the crafts of independent research and dedicated involvement. In turn, I shall get intellectual satisfaction and gratification of becoming a contributor of knowledge with research, and the greater personal rewards of memory and discovery. Now, on the verge of completion of my Under-Graduate Studies, I realize that my present knowledge would not suffice. I feel that unless one is erudite in his field, one cannot be fully satisfied.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

Ever since my early academic years, my strengths have always included my logical, analytical and quantitative. I chose mathematics and physics oriented curriculum during senior high school to reinforce these strengths of mine. As a result of this solid background and my continuous interest in the field, I ranked in the top 5% of over 100,000 thousand students in the Common Engineering Entrance Examination. I subsequently pursued my Undergraduate studies at the XYZ College of Engineering and Technology affiliated to Jawaharlal Technological University (JNTU), which is one of the premier institutes offering Technological education.

AREAS OF INTEREST WITH-IN MY MAJOR COURSE:

The Undergraduate program at NCET, a reputed college in electrical engineering, is a well-sounded program. It not only helped me build a solid foundation of Electrical Engineering fundamentals, but also helped me develop an overall perspective in the vast field of Electrical Engineering. During the course of my study, I developed a keen interest in the areas of Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave Engineering. The knowledge gained through my undergraduate course work coupled with my practical experience has given me the solid foundation to build my graduate studies.

In addition to my course work, I also have practical experience that will aid in the development of my future studies and career, with my own initiative and zeal to explore the practical aspects of Communication. I have also presented papers on "Digital Signal Processing" and "Fourth Generation Antennas". I was involved in project on "Water Level Controller", "Irradiation of illegal power tapping from Transmission Lines". And I have visited many work places and industries such as BHEL , ECIL , BDL and DRDL.

Today, Digital Signal Processing field is playing a vital role in many engineering fields such as Electrical, Biomedical, Computer, Communication and many branches of engineering. Real time operations and high speed are requirements of DSP System. There is a tremendous scope for the improvements of DSP system in these areas and their applications in general life. I have acquired conceptual and practical knowledge of this subject and to make contribution in above areas I would require in depth knowledge of DSP, which I intend to achieve through a Masters Degree specializing in Digital Signal Processing.

I have actively participated in many National Level Technical Symposiums. I was the coordinative member for the NETSCAPE-07, a state level symposium. And I have presented many papers on different topics such as OCEAN ENERGY, FUZZY CO ORDINATION OF FACTS, SCADA, and ROBOTICS. And I secured SECOND prize in the ……………..

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

My academic pursuits have not however, prevented me from participating with interest in various extracurricular activities. I have taken part in various literary activities. I am a good athlete as well. I stood 2nd in state level children’s Olympiad middle distance running and was selected for national’s under-16. I was the captain for volleyball, basketball teams of my school. Being a member of college committee team exposed me to new and dynamic horizons of technology. I had the opportunity to actively participate in the local students’ chapter and it was indeed an enriching experience. These activities have led to the development of a multifaceted personality and have equipped me with strong interpersonal skills. This helped me to lead the followers and as well as follow the leader when working as a team.

The hours of hard work that I put into excel in my education not only made me realize the beauty of attaining knowledge but also gave me the perseverance to look beyond and extend my boundaries, the time I have spent has only given me a brief glimpse of the vastness of knowledge, what I have seen has only aroused my curiosity and eagerness to explore the depths. The opportunity to pursue Graduate Studies at Florida State University will help me in being one who “vires- act beyond my capability”, with “artes- skill” and with “mores- morality”, all these reasons will make me realize my dream. At the end of it I expect to have entered into an area of specialized research and contributed significantly towards it.
